Privacy Policy
V.I.O. is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. Please read the following Privacy Policy ("Policy") to understand how your personal information will be treated as you use this web site and our other facilities. This Policy is incorporated into and should be reviewed along with the web site Terms of Use Agreement. The Policy may change from time to time so please check back periodically as your continued use of this web site constitutes your acceptance of these terms. The most current version of this Policy, which supersedes all previous versions, can be reviewed by clicking on the Privacy Policy at the bottom each page of this web site.
1. What personally identifiable information does V.I.O. collect from me?
V.I.O. collects information in several ways. Some personal information is gathered when you register or open an account. During registration, V.I.O. may ask for your name, email address, birth date, gender, zip code, occupation, industry or personal interests. The more information you volunteer (and the more accurate it is), the better we are able to customize your experience.
In addition, we may ask you for personal information at other times, including (but not limited to) when you enter a sweepstakes, contest or promotion sponsored by V.I.O. and/or one of our partners; when you make a purchase from V.I.O.; when you subscribe to newsletters, catalogs or other publications; or when you report a problem with our services. If you contact V.I.O. we may keep a record of that correspondence. V.I.O. also occasionally asks users to complete surveys that we use for research purposes. Whenever V.I.O. collects personal information we make an effort to include a link to this Policy on that page.
You understand that any information, image, video, picture, or other material included in any User Content that you post on this web site shall be considered publicly available and is not considered protected personally identifiable information subject to this Policy. Any User Content can be viewed, collected and used by others.
2. What are cookies and how does V.I.O. use them?
As part of offering and providing customizable and personalized services, V.I.O. uses cookies to store and sometimes track information about you. A "cookie" is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive.
Generally, we use cookies in the following ways: (i) to offer certain features that are only available through the use of cookies, (ii) to help identify you each time you access the web site and provide personalized content, advertisements and information, (iii) to monitor and design our marketing activities, (iv) to monitor your activities such as submissions of User Content and track your status regarding subscriptions to newsletters, and participation in sweepstakes or promotions, and (v) to monitor the number of visitors to our web site. Most cookies are "session cookies," meaning that they are automatically deleted from your computer at the end of a session. You may encounter cookies from third parties on certain pages of the Site that we do not control. (For example, if you view a web page created by another user, there may be a "cookie" placed by that web page.) You may wish to adjust your web browser to inform you whenever a cookie is to be used, or to reject all cookies automatically. If you elect not to accept cookies, however, some parts of the web site may not function properly or permit access. For more information about cookies, see www.cookiecentral.com.
3. How does V.I.O. use my information?
V.I.O.'s primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you, the user, with an efficient browsing experience. This includes personalization services, interactive communications, online shopping, targeted advertisements, and other services. Advertisers give us an advertisement and tell us the type of audience they want to reach (for example, males over 35 years old). V.I.O. takes the advertisement and displays it to users meeting those criteria. In this process, the advertiser never has access to individual account information. Only V.I.O. has access to individuals' accounts. This kind of advertisement targeting also is done with banner ads. You will only receive special offers via email from V.I.O. if you have indicated in your account preferences that you would like to receive them. You can change your account preferences at any time.
V.I.O. may research our users' demographics, interests, and behavior based on the information provided to us upon registration, during a promotion, from our server log files or from surveys. We do this to better understand and serve our users. This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis. V.I.O. may share this aggregated data with advertisers or business partners.
4. Who is collecting information?
When you are using the V.I.O. websites you may be asked for personal information which V.I.O. may share with its business partners in order to provide you with new or better services.. Some or all data collected during a promotion may be shared with the sponsor. Please be aware that V.I.O. advertisers or web sites that have links on our site may collect personally identifiable information about you. The information practices of those other parties' web sites are not covered by this Policy.

When you participate in these types of promotions, you automatically receive promotion-related email, unless you choose the no-email option that some promotions offer. Occasionally these promotion-related email messages may include targeted advertisements.
We will notify you at the time of data collection if your data will be shared with a third party and you will always have the option of not using the particular service or not participating in the associated promotions or contests.
